...or below...institutions crossed out ("####") to protect their privacy... Absolutely the best course and instructor during my time at ####. Phenomenal material and learning environment. Would recommend #### seek to adopt aspects of Dr. Clark's teaching methods to other courses. Best course I have taken. Valuable topic and amazing instructor. It easily was the most thought-provoking and interesting course I have had at ####. Dr. Clark provided the most meaningful and (likely) lasting academic experience of my year at the ####. I fully expect Dr. Clark's lessons to remain relevant throughout my military career and intend to remain in touch with him. The best course of this academic year. So happy I chose this concentration, and the learning has been extremely beneficial for my papers, especially for my ####. The instructor truly understands how to achieve an adult learning environment! Excellent seminar and instruction by all measures! Wish all of my #### classes were this well organized, purposeful, and taught. One of the best courses I've taken at ####; expanded my horizons with respect to subversion. Expert faculty lead with patience and humor. Doc is the best instructor I’ve had at ####. Dr. Clark provided a learning experience like no other in the #### College. He is a true professional and a master of his craft. He provided topics that challenged our intellect, knowledge, and experiences while not influencing our opinions. Doc Howard did it again ... provided an AWESOME curriculum and learning environment which dramatically contributed to my overall learning/understanding of the subject matter. [Influence Warfare and Subversion, Subterfuge, Sabotage NEEDS to be elevated from an elective to a 'must take' course for ALL #### University students. The learning objectives in both courses deal directly with real-world geopolitical and GPC activities and will provide any student with the tools necessary to act on or react to Influence Warfare and Subversion, Subterfuge, Sabotage operations. I found the applicability of the subject matter to our everyday life the most useful. It's one thing to learn about a subject that may or may not have direct impact on your life. However, every element of this Subversion, Subterfuge, Sabotage elective had immediate correlation and impact in my life. The course was expertly instructed, Dr. Clark clearly has decades of experience in this area. He did a great job involving the experiences of those in class and his own background to facilitate the lesson. Dr. Clark is the best instructor I've had over my entire time at #### University…Wider dissemination of this course material would be helpful to our leadership. This was an excellent class. Dr. Clark directed us towards the information that was most direct in helping us think of the topics in new ways. He was very respectful of our time and interests. This elective has been my favorite course this semester. The professor was brilliant, energetic and engaged. The course materials were fantastic. I don't think it *can* be improved. Simply put, Doc Clark is awesome. I've never had an instructor that works so diligently to create an environment to facilitate our learning. I'm not aware of any other instructor that went above and beyond like that. Additionally, he provided podcasts before each lesson to help us manage our thoughts and pull more from the readings than we would have by simply "reading the assignment." Finally, he exceeded expectations by dynamically incorporating student feedback and adjusting to the COVID environment by offering tailored interviews (like Dr. Arturo Munoz) through his podcasts. To any student, this is clearly above the call of duty. For some reason, I think to Doc Clark, it's just "ops normal," which is phenomenal. Dr. Howard Clark is an amazing instructor. He is passionate about the subject matter and compassionate toward his students. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a safe and comfortable environment to express their views and explore their understanding which sometimes challenged some deeply-held beliefs. He was a consummate professional throughout this course and presented this very difficult material in a succinct and cogent manner. I'm glad #### University brought this course forward as it has huge applicability for tomorrows fight. It also would not be the same without Dr Howard and his background experience. Thank you, Doc Clark! I hope College #### continues to advocate for the Influence Warfare concentration. This track really changes the way students view the strategic context of our respective professional (and personal) environments. Furthermore, by learning the nature of influence, it helps students convey these concepts to senior leaders and workforce, as well. After all, what good is a narrative if you can't share it? Bravo Zulu. Keep up the great work! By far the most interesting and well-taught course of the entire program. Especially appreciated the prompt and straightforward feedback to any questions I had. Instructor extremely open-minded, treating everyone with utmost respect and valuing everyone's input. He really drew out the best in discussions and brought in both media and guests to enrich the experience. Out of all of my fall courses, my elective was my favorite over all of my core College #### required courses. Dr. Clark did an outstanding job of engaging the students, challenging our thinking, and took a not well understood subject and make it tangible. I very much appreciate Howard's informal approach to facilitating adult learning and engaging each and every student throughout the class…He is very adaptable and engaging. Truly brilliant course design. Dr. Clark clearly put an incredible amount of thought into the phasing of the course content, providing previews of material early on to shape synthesis of the reading material. The most organized class I've experienced in #### University -- very well done -- lessons were clearly articulated and the course followed the lesson plan. The instructor unquestionably knew the material and used that to guide discussions instead of just listening to himself speak. It brought even more value to the material as he helped us gain insight and challenge perspectives. Dr. Clark was approachable, professional, and deeply, deeply invested in delivering the best instruction he could. His preparation was obvious and greatly enhanced learning. Dr. Clark was always open to discuss progress and provide feedback -- he remained very accessible and was always excited/willing to converse with us. This method of instruction should be adopted across the College #### Dr. Clark achieved the learning objectives through practical, not theoretical, application. This creates a productive and enjoyable learning environment. …class structure met the needs of each student! Best instructor thus far! Excellent Professor -- I wish others would take his lead. Dr. Clark has an outstanding approach to educating. He has a very supporting and encouraging approach that enhances the learning environment. He truly appreciates and uses the input from the students in achieving the learning objectives. This is a thought provoking and intellectually stimulating class. The best course this semester hands-down. I learned a lot from the wide range of student experiences and opinions. This is an important field within the context of national security, hopefully elements can be incorporated into the mainstream course work of the #### School and the #### College. The feedback from the professor on our assignments was timely, fair, and extremely helpful - thank you. Dr. Clark did an excellent job creating a thoughtful, stimulating cross walk of ideas, amongst the students to enhance the material and bring out the "so what", as these techniques are relevant to planning and strategy. It's a great curriculum, run by an outstanding professor. I couldn't have asked for a more engaging opportunity for an elective. Dr. Clark did a phenomenal job facilitating the course to elicit responses from all students while capitalizing on student experience and thoughts. Dr Clark was an excellent instructor and facilitator. He grasped all the diverse perspectives being shared by students and welcomed diverse thought. He also asked questions and provided exercises that prompted students to critically evaluate and apply the concepts to current relevant issues. Furthermore, Dr Clark is one of the MOST student focused instructors. His policies/guidelines/flexibility/accessibility were excellent and focused on student learning/growth. The final memo/deliverable is something I will use going forward. Doc is an awesome professor and expert in the field, that provides important consideration to student contributions and feedback. The most engaging, accessible, and knowledgeable instructor I have had at ####University. Instructor was extremely engaging and inclusive of a very diverse range of ideas and thought lines. Podcasts were tremendously helpful, especially for the busy student juggling school, perhaps homeschooling their own children during pandemic, and many other things all at the same time. The podcasts, which brought in the element of guest lecturers, was a very good complement to all of the other course material. The topics and historical examples presented were relevant, thought-provoking, and appropriately reinforced the learning objectives…diverse readings were interesting and enlightening. The podcasts and interviews conducted were extremely useful and I appreciate that level of presentation and preparation by the instructor. The various primers Dr. Clark provided on a variety of subjects, from foundational narratives and the subconscious to the pillars of strategic influence, were all very helpful and are documents I will carry forward to my next assignment. This course is a hidden gem. I knew nothing of it prior to exposure at the "elective fair" but will now recommend it to all future students… Dr. Clark is one of the best instructors I have ever experienced (#### Tech and School #### included). His passion for his topic and his view of students as consumers of an academic experience (vs products of an institution) permeate every seminar. It makes for a richer learning environment where students challenge themselves to "not disappoint" vs grading/shepherding a course via checklist/rubric. His is the model #### University should be following. TAKE NOTICE!! Eye-opening, relevant and applicable for strategists. …Influence Warfare and Subversion courses should become requirements… Outstanding course and I am recommending it to friends I that are attending #### University next year. It provided further discussion on topics that are often overlooked to enhance current operations or can be conducted as standalone operations. Dr Clark delivered a phenomenal course! Much of this material should be included in core #### University courses. Outstanding course ... Dr. Clark set the standard for engaging content and keeping the entire class involved in the conversation and expanded/challenged thoughts. Highly recommended…should be a required course… His products were consistently efficient, effective, and wholly supportive of #### objectives…he demonstrated a personal investment in the development the security professionals in his charge and developed a strong, complimentary professional relationship with military and civilian leaders from throughout the Interagency. Most importantly, his ability to anticipate challenges, craft effective and pragmatic solutions, and provide high quality advice was of essential value to me as a senior military officer. May have been the most rewarding experience of my year at ####. Fantastic course and fantastic concentration! I hope to see it expanded in future years. I also think more of this type of curriculum could find its way into the core curriculum for all of the colleges. EXCELLENT Course & Professor!...should be a core requirement… Dr. Clark is energized, an expert, and engaging from a student perspective; i.e. he talks with us, not at us, despite how much more he knows on the subject.
